Ann,
Knowing you and that you are creating spreadsheets for your own use and not
for distribution to others, this is what I use and will work for you.
1. Highlight the row(s) and column(s) that contain the headings you want
spoken.
2. Create a name in this form:
TitleRegionX.UL.LR.Sheet#
Where: UL is the cell addres of the upper left and LR is thecell address
of the lower right corner of the area and Sheet# is the number of the
spreadsheet in the workbook.
X in TitleRegionX is a unique number for the region you are defining.
Note the capitals of T & R and the other parameters are separated by
periods.
I followed George's example using Excel 2007 and JFW 11 and it did not work.

I copied from my spreadsheet a1:e5 and pasted to another spreadsheet.
I left A1 blank but when I went down to data on a3:e3 column titles were not
read when I pressed the right or left arrow keys.
I then tried to shift A1 left by using the application key but shift left
was not available as follows
Insert
Insert
Shift cells right
Shift cells down
Entire row
Entire column
OK Cancel
So unsure how to accomplish this but it would be much easier as I get better
with Excel 2007. What am I missing. Need to go out all morning but look
forward to your help.
