You can also get to the menus and options with the Applications key on your
keyboard. Just don't expect to hear the actual titles of the features on
your DVD. In the Title menu, JAWS will read the choices as Title 1, Title
2, etc. The titles are written to the screen graphically and can't be read
with a screen reader. You will just have to go through the titles to see
what's on the DVD.

On one or two occasions, I've tried to watch a DVD on my computer, but had
a really hard time navigating the two options I had on my XP machine
(RealPlayer and Windows Media Player). I think I was using JAWS 6.10 at
the time, I'm now running 7.10.
Anyway, I found that some parts of the DVD were played by one piece of software but not the other, and vice versa; and while I managed to figure out how to seek in RealPlayer (with ctrl+E), this didn't seem to work all the time.
In contrast, I manage to listen to MP3s in RealPlayer with no trouble. I
am able to use the JAWS cursor competently, so it's nothing as simple as
that. I'm almost completely unfamiliar with JAWS scripts, however, so may
have missed a few tricks there.
Bottom line: is there an easy way to watch DVDs, using software accessible
with JAWS, including being able to navigate around the tracks etc.?
Apologies if I've missed the obvious, but I couldn't find anything in the archives.
