Hi all,

I felt the need to throw my two cents worth in on this thread before I wear out
my delete key getting rid of the messages. The person who said the choice or a
service provider or type of service when using JAWS doesn't matter s
essentially correct. The type of connection to the Internet doesn't have
anything to do with
screen access. However, the accessibility of the Internet service provider's
web site could have an effect on how easily you'd be able to manage your own
account
online. For example, to set up additional e-mail addresses, which is an option
provided by most Internet accounts, dial-up, DSL, Cable etc. you can do this
from the
service provider's web site. If the site is difficult to navigate, then you
won't be inclined to use the features that you are paying for. Another thing
I'd advise
considering is the customer support is for the company you are using. This is,
in my opinion, where the choice of a service type and provider becomes quite
important. If you have to do the set up yourself and the service provider
sends you inaccessible instructions, or the service goes out and you want to
know what is
going on, the ability to get in touch with a human who can communicate
effectively with you to solve the problem is critical. So, it isn't really
whether or not to use
Cable vs DSL when you are considering accessibility; it is whether the type of
connection is what you want in terms of speed and convenience. We pay good
money for Internet service and we should be able to get dependable service and
good customer support.
