Never putting the machines in standby or hibernation.
Anyway, I'm working on a couple of solutions right now.

Dennis,

You've got a *lot* of different problems here, and the first one, it feels
like we're picking up in the middle (that is, you start out by saying
something like "I'm still receiving error 6").

Could you list each one separately, and for the one I mentioned, could you
describe it from the beginning?

Since you say these are happening to you on 2 different machines, perhaps
it's some software you're running that's installed on both? Software that
most people don't have?

Or perhaps something to do with your network router (the speed issues) or
network environment? Are these pcs networked together?

Take the most troublesome one and perhaps work with it first. It seems to
be the stand-by one, but you're not really clear, are you putting the pcs
into stand-by?

hth,

Chip
