I'm pretty sure that there is a box in configuration manager called detect
languages, and you can turn it on or off. Permanently.

The solution is to copy and paste the text in an MS Word document and select
the text and press alt T for Tools, l twice for language and select with arrow
keys the option of your choice. That is how I do it when i encounter that
problem.

  Andrew.

    Hi all

Could some kind soul please tell me how to disable automatic language
detection (not on the fly, for keeps). For some mysterious reason Jaws insists
on vocalizing an Australian website in German.

    Many thanks,

    Ron.
