I believe it is MS word that that contributes to the Jaws verbosity function of
recognising the language. If Jaws language detection is on but not MS Word's,
it will not do it. It will recognise that the language is not English, but it
will only read the language set in the option by MS word.

yes Andrew, I use the same commands like everybody here, because I am using
JAWS multiple languages. the only thing that changed my primary speech
synthesizer is latin american spanish, but I was talking about my keyboard
language, worried about my messages features, which language will read the
person (a JAWS user person), who is receiving my messages? so the question was
missexpressed, which language is detected by "JAWS authomatic language
detection"? written texxt language? writer's keyboard language? or what?
too much confuse? sorry in advance!

I have to ask you though, do you have the same keystrokes? Say for
instance, if you want to search something in a word document, do you press ctrl
plus F for find or ctrl plus B for Buscar?

To make sure that JAWS works well with multiple languages:
Make sure that the verbosity level (insert V) is indicating that languages
(L) state that they are on having selected the ones you would like JAWS to
recognise when you installed the version in your computer.
Then enter Microsoft Office Tools submenu by pressing Windows key and P for
programs. Press M as many times as necessary to access it and press Enter.
Down arrow to language settings and check the languages you want Word to
recognise. Tab along to OK in order to save the changes.
Enter a Word document and type a sentence in each language you want Jaws to
recognise. If it still cannot cope, enter Tools by pressing alt plus T. Down
arrow to language submenu, right arrow to enter it and press enter on select
language. Tab twice to detect language automatically and press tab twice again
to OK. It can also be done by entering Tools, pressing L twice and Alt E to
detect language. Then press Alt D so that this feature is set as the default.
The computer will prompt you if you wish English to be the default language.
This means that it will start with English and recognize the language as you
type. Press Y for Yes and enter.

Even if the language recognition is set, F7 will not recognize the language
until you enter the Jaws verbosity level and make sure that the spelling and
grammar option is checked. Then, you will have to double check that the MS Word
Spelling and Grammar option is activated. To achieve this:
Press F7 after typing a deliverate mistake.
Then press Alt K to check grammar. If the computer announces that the
grammar option is off, press the spacebar to toggle it back to on.

To disable language detection in Internet Explorer with Jaws:
When you're in internet explorer, hit JAWSKey+6. Once the configuration
manager starts, hit alt+s and aero down to text processing. Uncheck detect
languages.
One more thing. To only disable language detection for that specific
website, open the site in internet explorer. Instead of hitting JAWSKey+v,
hit JAWSKey+Shift+v. Hit l for language detection.

Jusst curious, this is Esperanza Villafuerte from Peru.
wondering about, for example, I am writing in english but my system
language is spanish, because I am not only user of this PC. It means, that
because authomatic language detection, by then you'll have received this
email, JAWS reads this like it was written in spanish?
