Hi Mike,
You can use Ad-Aware SE, but you need to manuely update it. When getting a
definitions out of date message, do not try to run the automatic update.
Do the following:
In order to continue to keep Ad-Aware SE Personal updated, you will need
to
perform manual updates when new Definitions Files are released. Here are
the
instructions for performing a manual update for Ad-Aware SE:

- Close Ad-Aware SE.
- Download the latest Definitions File in ZIP format here
http://download.lavasoft.com/public/defs.zip
and save the file to a
temporary location.
- Unzip the contents of the file either with a ZIP utility or with the
built-in support in Windows to the Ad-Aware SE installation directory,
which
usually is "C:\Program Files\Lavasoft\Ad-Aware SE\".
- Open Ad-Aware SE.
- Confirm that the latest Definitions File is installed by checking the
"Initialization Status" in the main program window.

Best regards,

Erin Earley
