Robin, Jaws does indeed distinguish between the 2 types of tables, albeit not always correctly. There is a setting in the configuration manager for whether you want Jaws to announce All Tables or only Data Tables. It expects that the table is for data and not formatting. So If I hit the letter T I will jump to a table then I can use the table navigation keys to read the data.
