Hi,
Ok, I've got a function firing on focus changed, what existing scripts use UIA
asI'd like some examples. What I'm tryingto do is detect when a window is
hidden--it's never destroyed.

The documentation page already tells you what you need in order to do that, the
FSUia object has a GetElementFromHandle member.
Other than that page the only other material I am aware of is the existing
scripts.

In a word no.
Any functionality your getting through TypeKey is through an event being
triggered rather than the keystroke.
If you want to trigger a Jaws script you have to call it.

Hello Bob,
found the soolution: SimulateKey().
Checks if a script is attached to the kombi provided and runs it, otherwise,
passes the key through to application level. TypeKey() always passes through.
Took a while to find out. ^^

You should look at how jaws hot key help is implemented. You should not try to
simulate JAWS hot keys because JAWS makes it fairly easy to reassign keystrokes.

Best friend is the script template by jamal, which speaks the event name before
executing it, since NewTextShouldBeSilent is not an event, it will not be read
but you shall have a path to follow.
On 2/22/17, Bob _ <temp@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx> wrote:
If the text is becoming highlighted as the field is focused then it's
probably NewTextEvent doing the speaking so you should use
NewTextEventShouldBeSilent to prevent it speaking.
The question here though really is how to find what is causing the
speech in the first place and then you will know what to modify.
Try following the path Jaws is taking through FocusChangedEventEx or
if that is being called at all.

Using the WindowDestroyedEvent is tricky because all the information about the
window can be gone by the time the event fires. I rarely use that event for
this reason; and when I do, I also usually cache window handles from elsewhere
so I can recognize when the window that's going away is one I was watching for.
An overly simple example:
globals collection gMyWindows
void function WindowCreatedEvent(handle hwnd, ...) if getWindowClass(hwnd) ==
"blah"
if !gMyWindows
gMyWindows = new collection
endIf
gMyWindows[intToString(hwnd)] = 1
endIf
windowCreatedEvent(hwnd, ...)
endFunction
void function WindowDestroyedEvent(handle hwnd) if gMyWindows[intToString(hwnd)]
collectionRemoveItem(gMyWindows, intToString(hwnd))
sayString("There goes one!")
endIf
windowDestroyedEvent(hwnd)
endFunction

Hello,
At work, we use an Avaya phone system. I have been testing the Avaya
Flare Experience softphone application. The accessibility is, in a
word, horrible!
Does anyone know if scripts have been developed for this application?
Also, does anyone have any contacts at Avaya that I might be able to
speak to?
Thanks!

Hi,
Not recently. The last I heard, that software was over $1000. I'm looking for a
purely softphone solution for working remotely. Avaya Flare is free.

No, they make no claims to its accessibility. I'm trying to track down
someone at Avaya. We'll see what happens.

I haven't had experience with this particular avaya package. Do they
claim it is accessible? I had a package that I was supposed to be
able to control my avaya desk phone through my computer. It sort of
worked under XP but the win 7 version never worked for me.
The reason I ask is that the package I had was developed by a single
person with limited support and that was the extent of avaya's
interest in accessibility Regards Tom Bisset Wealth Management
