Hi Paul!

Sorry to hear about all your problems and I doubt I can be of much help, but
I wouldn't think removing your dongle or CD drive would have caused your
problems. However I am certainly no expert, so have no idea what has!!! I
find my Dell netbook is quite temperamental if I try to connect to another
Wifi apart from my own, say staying with friends. The chargers also don't
seem to be the most robust in the world as I had to buy a new one and my son
has had several new ones also in the past couple of years.

As for JAWS: can you not go to Freedom Scientific's website to download
JAWS 12?

Perhaps the people in the shop can give you some idea what is causing the
problem, or maybe you have just been unlucky and it's a faulty machine.

Hope you get it sorted soon and let us know.

Mel.

HI all,

Apologies for the cross-posting as some of you will see this mesage three
times but I feel it necessary to send to more than one list.

Back in March 2011, I decided to buy myself a netbook. The reason for this
was so that when I am away from home, I can stil access the internet and
maybe check my Emails, via my ISP's site.

Well, for the first few months or so, I was able to do just that, without too
much dificulty. however towards the end of 2011, I noticed I was having
dificulty in geting onto the internet.

In december, attempts to access the internet failed completely and I was
also getting seveal error mesages comeing up.

A couple of months later, I took it back to the store where I bought it from
and they sent it away to be looked at.

As far as I can remember, there was some kind of problem wiht the harddrive
of my Netbook.

Once I had got it back, all semed to be OK, at least for the next three
months or so.

In june, whilst away, I had more problems with it and once again couldn't
access the internet.

two weeks ago, I atempted to charge up my netbook but noticed that the unit
and plug wern't getting warm and so I took it back to where I bought it
from.

Today, I have once again gone back and this time, they have had a look at it
and later on, phoned me to say that there were a number of problems with it
and that the only way to solve them was to set it to the factory setting.

Whilst this will probably solve the main problems with my netbook, I have a
feeling I wil have to reinstall JAWS and the problem here is that as I
appear to have used up all tocans on the JAWS 12 disc, I am not now sure if
I can reinstal it again.

Another problem I have encountered is that whenever I have plugged in either
my dongle for accessing the internet or the portable CD player, I have been
unabel to remove either in safe mode as the insert key on my netbook doesn't
seem to work all the time.

Consequently this has meant me having to just remove the above which I
understand isn't the correct way of doing things.

It's possible that my actions may have caused the problems with my netbook.

Also, it seems that my netbook has put up sevearl error mesages up but JAWS
doesn't seem to have been abel to read them.

As a result of the above problems, I am feeling that I have not got the use
out of my netbook over the past few months.

On my netbook, I am using JAWS version 12 with windows 7.

If anyone could please give me any advice on how I can prevent such problems
occuring in the future, then please do get in touch.

Your help with this would be very much appreciated.

Thanks for reading.

Regards

Paul.
