I tend to do all my stuff on a monthly basis, Ad-aware, Spybot, clean up
and defrag, and I can get it all done in around an hour. I'm quite a
heavy pc user.

The key for me is certainly, make sure your anti virus is disabled and
the defrag runs steadily. You might also try getting a registry cleaner
like regVac which I have set to clean the registry on boot up.

If you get yourself a regular routine like this, then your general
maintenance tasks will only take a short time, but well worth the
effort.

Hth, Robin.

As far as I know, whenever you use jaws to check the progress, it will=20
re-start the defrag.
