Hi Francis,

In answer to your first question about creating a folder to dump your recorded tracks, this is what I recommend:

1: Create your music folder in a place where it is easy to access rather than using the default folder, for example I have an external drive so I created a folder named music at the first level. 2: Open up CDEX and press F4 to open configuration, then locate the file names tab and press tab until you reach recorded tracks, this has a button at the end of the line which JFW doesn't usually speak so you need to use the jaws cursor and navigate to the end of the line, then use the left mouse emulation key to activate it, then you can browse to the folder you have already created and save your setting.

On your second question, pressing F8 saves your tracks in .wav format, F9 saves them in .mp3 which is recommended, and before doing so press ctrl A to select all.

Hope this helps,

Pete H.

Subject: [jaws-uk] cdex configuration

hi there, I have decided to use cdex to rip cds instead of windows media
player, because cdex has a data base, however in trying to tell cdex in
which directory I want the cds dumped, I have failed to delete the previous settings. also I know the command for ripping one track it is f8 but what is
the command for ripping the whole cd?
