If you do want to do it the steps are as follows:
1. Go to the Jaws exe file on your PC that you first installed jaws from
2. Hit enter on run.
3. Tab and hit enter on repair.
4. During the repair it will ask you if you want to leave Jaws settings that
you may have saved just let it leave the settings.
5. It should continue and when finished you press enter on the finish
button.
6. It will probably want to re-start the PC to complete the repair.
Note always wait till Jaws asks you to do something this can sometimes take
a long time but don't worry.

If you need anymore help please get in touch.

Hope this helps.

Ismail.

Thanks for the suggestion; I wouldn't know how to do that though, Ismail.

Have you tried a repair on Jaws as this can sometimes sort out some
problems?

Ismail.

Hi Ian
That's what happens for me too, except it just happens over and over again,
and is a very recent thing.  Often when I ask it to reopen and try again it
makes a really grumpy noise I've never heard before; a single syllable sort
of grunt (Windows not JAWS I think), and won't open.  I'm using Windows 7
and JAWS 16, I think.  Can't upgrade JAWS again as can't afford the rip-off
price, so hoping it will sort itself out.  Just defragged, to see if it's
maybe tangled itself up, but no difference; it won't work at all today.
Anyway thanks again; sorry am really just venting now :o) All bests Amie

Hi Amie,

Sometimes when I try to open a folder, Jaws will just stop responding.  If I
press Alt+F4 and wait for around 30 seconds, Jaws will restart.  Then I can
open the folder again without any problem.  There doesn't seem to be any
pattern as to when this happens.

I'm using the latest Jaws with the 1703 version of Windows.  The Fall Update
of Windows is due to be installed in a day or two so it will be interesting
to see if anything improves.

Regards.

Ian

Subject: [jaws-uk] Windows Explorer playing up

Hi list
Not sure if this is anything to do with JAWS, so please forgive me if this
is just off-topic: in the last few days Windows Explorer has started playing
up by freezing when I ask it to navigate to folers and files.  I do use a
lot of nested folders, but it has never had a problem with that before.  Now
though it crashes when I ask it to navigate, and does it continually, making
itself pretty much unusable.  I'm finding all files from within Word etc.
So far it is handlable but I'd rather fix it and am worried it's the
precursor of something worse.

Can anyone advise me please?

Thanks in advance

A
