Hi Jane,
Probably the reason no one else has replied is because they don't know what the answer is, that's certainly why I didn't reply. It does all sound very odd and I can't think what could have happened to your files. Have you tried a search (start button then search) for a file that you know used to be there? Perhaps all the files were moved by mistake to another folder. Just a thought. Did anything happen, (eg you installed a program, uninstalled a program, someone else used the computer, ec) before this happened? Do you have a backup?
Sorry I can't help more, Good luck.
Belinda
PS I agree with Barry that a subject title like "lost Files" would be useful.

Hi Jane

If you have no luck with the RNIB volunteer, I would suggest you repost your
problem with a specific subject title, such as Lost files. It could be that
your title didn't pique the interest of some members.

regards

Barry

Dear Barry,
Just to let you know that I did an antivirus straight away and nothing came
up I have an RNIB volunteer coming to me next Monday evening and we are
going to discuss this harddrive, I have another one at present which I can
save things to so it isn't too bad at present. It may mean a new PC
eventually but I shall keep you posted on happenings.
Thanks for your thoughts
from
Jane

Two things come to mind, Jane, and neither of them are pleasant. I would
be
thinking that you either have a faulty hard drive or a nasty virus.
Still,
what do I know? I'm by no means an expert.

I hope you get something sorted.

Barry
