You should be able to create the short cut while JAWS is running. Press
Windows Key and m to take you to the desktop. Press J until you hear JAWS
say JAWS 16.0. Press alt+ENTER to take you into the properties screen. Tab
twice to take you to the field where you can define your shortcut key. Press
the key you want. There is no need to press ctrl+alt with your chosen key as
this will be added automatically.Tab until you hear ok spoken and then press
either ENTER or Spacebar.

You can use narrator for this.
Windows key and u, then alt and n,
Hit windows key and d,
Then arrow to the jaws short cut on the desktop. Press alt and enter, then
tab to the shortcut key box, it should be empty, press ctrl alt and j in it,
then tab to ok. Job done. To test, launch jaws, then go to desktop with
windows key d, then press the short cut combo ctrl alt j. this should put
you in jaws window.

Hi Guys,
Since I've loaded Jaws 16, I haven't been able to create a short cut key to
turn Jaws on after it's been off if my husband uses the computer, it's a
real pain. Can anyone give me an idea, if he forgets to turn Jaws on again
for me, I'm stuck because the short cut doesn't seem to work anymore. Help!
