Mandy, I don't know why the short-cut isn't working but what you can do is
to use windows key and m to go to desktop and then j for jaws and enter.
Assuming this is the only thing starting with j it should talk to you.

Since I've loaded Jaws 16, I haven't been able to create a short cut key to
turn Jaws on after it's been off if my husband uses the computer, it's a
real pain. Can anyone give me an idea, if he forgets to turn Jaws on again
for me, I'm stuck because the short cut doesn't seem to work anymore. Help!
