Hi Tim,

I too have the focus display, I have a 70. To be honest, I don't think that
Braille input with this display would be particularly easy, not for someone
such as myself with average sized female hands. Have just tried keying in
various Braille combinations and find the action very clumsy. I'm much quicker
on the QWERTY keyboard. Great display though otherwise, I particularly find
the whiz wheels useful in my job.

Subject: [jaws-uk] Optimising use of braille displays and JAWS

Hi All,
For the last couple of years I've been using a Focus 80 braille display.
This has a braille keyboard for added navigation functionality, and this
can now be used for keying in braille. I'm wondering if anyone else has
tried to use these keys as their primary mode of input to and control of
the PC, since, especially when using a laptop, it would be very handy
not to have to use the QWERTY keyboard for control functions etc. I'd
also like to be able to key in grade 2 for "on-the-fly" translation, as
I seem to remember was possible on the Braille Lite series of displays.

I'd like to raise this as an enhancement request to JAWS, but thought
I'd find out first if anyone else would find this useful.

Regards,

Tim Pennick
