Hi again all

Well, after experimenting on my desktop machine, I have reproduced the
problem. Seems I will have to stick to using laptop layout with the
default key of caps lock.

Hi Pierre and all

Thank you for clarifying the difference between the classic laptop and
laptop layouts. =3D0D

I'm still not quite clear on the insert and caps lock situation though.
I don't want to use caps lock as the Jaws key (because I prefer a key on
the right-hand side of the keyboard); so I have set the Jaws key to
insert but caps lock still doesn't work whether I press it once or twice
quickly.

If anyone else replied to my e-mail about this, please could you resend
it as I had accidentally been set to vacation for a short while and
didn't see my original mail come in.

Thank you.

Irene

        Hi Irene and all,

The "classic laptop" is now obsolete. Better use "laptop".
"classic laptop" makes use of the "alt" keys in combination with the
other keys and thus there is a large number of incompatibilities with
many softwares.

With "laptop", the insert key keeps its normal usage, and in
addition, the caplock key acts also as a Jaws key in combination with
the other keys.=3D0D
To change case, just press twice quickly the capslock key, and
do the same to return to normal.

You will find all details in jaws help :
Jaws window (insert-j)
help
keyboard commands
laptop Jaws keystrokes

The "laptop" layout is indeed very convenient when one is used
to it.

        Cheers,
        Pierre.
