Amro,

Thanks for your reply, the only one to date.

I was asked to uninstall Malwarebytes using a clean link and
then to install an updated version from the Malware website.
I went to the link provided but nothing happened for a few
minutes and then I got a message stating that the latest
database (ver 6978) of Malwarebytes had been successfully
installed

I have also been asked to install and run the following
software:

Sysinternals Process Explorer

However, now that the latest update came through without any
apparent problem I'm inclined to leave things as they are
for now. If I get a similar problem again I'll follow it
up.

Jim

Hi Jim, sounds like load of old balls to me. But of course I
could be
totally wrong. You could unload Jaws from your memory (quit
Jaws) and then
use either Narrator, SA To Go or, Thunder or NVDA to finish
the update and
see if it works. This way you'll eliminate the possibility
of Jaws
interfering if it indeed is.

Let us know how it goes. I am intrigued.

Cheers,
Amro

Subject: [jaws-uk] JAWS 9 and Malware

Hi List,

JAWS 9, XP Home Malwarebytes

Has anyone with the exact same setup as mine above had any
problem with
updates from Malwarebytes.

I have had 2 failures in trying to update to the latest
Malware anti virus
databases in the last few weeks. I am currently in contact
with their
support team and in their latest communication to me they
state:

"This may be related to your JAWS software. We have another
error from that
software, it references an 'out of memory'
issue. Currently there is no way for us to code around it as
it happens due
to the way JAWS works, hooking the Windows operating system"

Malware state this after I sent a screenshot of my system.

Anyone else had similar issues? Note I am using JAWS 9 and
cannot afford to
upgrade at present.

Jim Williams.
