MessageI think it only started doing it recently.  I also remember having a 
similar thing a long time ago but can't remember how it was resolved.

  As a guess, David, one message will presumably be selected as soon as they 
arrive, probably complete with preview pane, thus the silly machine assumes 
you've read that one, so there are n minus one unread.

    I'm wondering if there is anybody out there.  I saw one email yesterday 
which is well below the standard of this list.

    So, to keep on topic, could anyone tell me why Outlook Express always 
reports one less than the number of emails that have arrived.  For example, 103 
arrived this morning but it reported 102.  Is this a Jaws thing or what?  How 
can it be fixed?
