Hi.
yes they can.
I just did the following to test.
apple
banana
grape
orange
plumb
I then did control a to select all.
Then go to tables with alt a.
Then scroll down to sort.
In the sort dialog box, choose the options most appropriate and hit enter.
Whatever text you've selected will be sorted.
