Your question contains within it several possible other questions.
There are several possible voicess you might have running! If you could
please look by alt-tabbing to the JAWS item on the taskbar, then alt
into the File,Basics Submenu, then DownArrow to the Voices Submenu. Now
hit the right-arrow key to get into the Voices Submenu. Explore this
area by tabbing around. If you want to increase or decrease a value,
cursor up or down on it to see/hear what effect such a change could
have. Do you want your change to be general, across the board? Then,
choose the Global Adjustment... dialogue, and implement what I have
indicated above. .
