Hello Ariane,

One option for pressing multiple keys at once would be to turn on sticky
keys. This would allow you to press and release a modifier key such as the
shift key, and then press a second key. The computer will consider the
first key pressed as being held down until you press the second key. The
best way of doing this varies depending upon your operating system. Let us
know which version of Windows you're using. You wrote:

SM: I'd be interested in determining why this happens. I know that wasn't
your question, Smile, but solving this problem would mean no keyboard
remapping.

As to that, I either should know how to remap a key and don't, or did know
but the memory has flown the coop. I'm sure there are others on the list
who can help with that.

Thanks to all for the suggestions.
So far the most efficient method strictly using the hands -free method to
access the application key, is using the command,"context menu" ..
, also, using the shift key and the F10 key works, but is difficult with
limitedd dexterity . regarding the other problem, mapping the "print screen"
key seems to be the best way to go for a single finger operation.
Is there a step by step relatively easy process on how to map a lap top key?
Will I need a fully cited person to assist, perhaps using my original Dell
Computer manual.?

(Incidentally, my old Dell laptop did have the "pause" key, but not even the
Dell technical support person could find a way to accurately substitute this
key.)
Sometimes I have used the command "press alt key, tab key" when the program
goes out of focus and does not seem to respond correctly.
Thanks in advance to all for your assistance Ariane.
