[iyonix-support] "flex memory error" with !PDF

Iyonix (Ro 5.18) for past few months will not open a PDF. It fails,
saying "Flex memory error".
I'm using PDF 3.02.1.24 (2011-july-11), (which worked OK till a few
months ago). It loads OK to the Iyonix iconbar if I doubleclick it in
Resources. Doubleclicking a PDF file brings the error and !PDF
disappears from the iconbar. Same if I drop the file onto the iconbar.
(This is *any* PDF, not a particular problem PDF.)
I use the very same version of !PDF successfully on the Armini (5.19
till last week, now 5.20) and on the RiscPC (4.39).
Here's a selection from Iyonix syslog. Curious how the "Error from"
part shows either two or three nonsense characters (not the same every
time) or nothing at all. (In case email mangles some of the weird
characters, block is also at www.abbeypress.net/TEMP/flexmem.txt )

What is "flex memory" anyway? I've never seen any reference to it
elsewhere.
