Yesterday I powered my Iyonix up with a jumper on the reset pins, so
that it was held permanently in reset, and measured voltages on the
pins of the EIA-232 transceiver.  All the outputs were at either
2.9V or 3.3V.  The inputs were at 5V.  There is no static loading
problem.  These voltages are well within the defined areas of LVTTL.

I haven't yet checked whether the 1535's input pins are 5V tolerant.
