You could could also hack up a quick prog that simply claims a very large rma slot. Does that cause a crash? It sounds as if the memory manager thinks it cannot expand the rma for some reason - a rogue app is trashing its workspace or something. I think when users get PS problems, there are hardware manifestations, such as *apparent* hard drive corruption, or network interfaces going awol or crashing. Sorry cannot be any more help.
