Oh sure, blame me. ;)

Always my fault.

More Rodney Dangerfield, anyone? :D

If anything, it's Apple since I used my iPhone to reply. ;)

I'd look at the Terminal Services Manager to ensure that RDP is listening on all interfaces next, but that's just me. Of course, your recommendations are more comprehensive and provide next steps...

Yes sir – during installs, I always follow a strict set of guideline s that I created for myself – that is one of the very first things I check off, immediately after the server boot up for the very first time. I’ve done SO many server installs, I can do it in my sleep – I can honestly say, I’ve done around 90 installs (that is just for 2003 Server)….

This problem is a REALLY weird one…

One thing I need to do, is have the active log run while I am VNC’d in, so I can see the precise transcript of what’s going on when I at tempt the connection.

Still, I’d be grateful if you could jog your memory and see if anybo dy here has seen anything like this before. My co-worker is chompin g at the bit to gain access to this server, so he can keep an eye on things when I am unreachable. I don’t want to give him VNC access, as I can’t lose my console screen – and I too, would rather use RDP as a means of accessing the server.

Thanks again for all your help,

Mike

Not to state the obvious, but since this is a new install, you DID go into computer properties, remote settings, and activate RDP, right?

Let’s start from there since the firewall itself is seeing the reque st succeed.

Hello All,

Very weird problem –

After installing ISA 2006, I am unable to RDP into the machine (and yes, I am coming from a Remote Management authorized computer).

The weird part is, once I hit the connect button, it proceeds to login, but then immediately aborts the process. If I look in the event log on the ISA Server, it says that I had a successful login & logout attempt.

It’s almost as if, the Client on MY side is the one aborting the con nection – but I don’t get an error dialog popping up or anything like that. Just a FYI, I have 40 other profiles setup on my system that I use regularly with my RDP client, and there are no problems l ogging into ANY other server.

Is there any place I should start looking first, in order to diagnose this problem?

Thanks in advance for all your help,

Mike
