Clever. But I doubt that was their intention, and if it was, using an ice pick
against a firewall is still silly ;)

You missed the fire and ice part? *grin*

Nope... didn't interpret it either way presented, which are other, valid
potential interpretations, and good examples of why the icepick is a poor
choice.

I interpret the image of the icepick as a tool used to establish handholds in
an otherwise unscalable wall of ice, eventually allowing one to overcome the
icy obstable; you get access to areas you otherwise wouldn't be able to access
without the tool.

Given that this is a firewall, it struck me as odd to present an image of a
tool used to punch holes in wall facings which facilitate the ability to
ultimately get past them.

What, you don't like the "one piece tool dating back a millennia that only
serves a single purpose and most people have never used before" metaphor that
an ice-pick represents? Or the "this is what we think you should use to solve
your Internet security issues?" approach?

I guess the upshot is that when management asks for a description of what TMG
is and what it can do for a company, they can just give them an ice pick and
that "this." Like a Denny's menu.

Any place we can write to impress upon TPTB that the image of an icepick to
represent a top-tier protected access solution is incredibly less than
reassuring?

..sadly...

We had some good ideas for cover art (something akin to the t-shirts we gave
out last year).

An icepick? Seriously? Seriously??

Wonderful image for a firewall. I'm guessing the marketing person isn't
technically in the know. :)
