MessageHello Ash, thanks for your helpfull reply. 1) I tried out two other dynDNS services resulting all in none-function. From this I think there's a configuration problem with my Isa. 2) As you say .."I didnt need to configure" as far as I remeber, so didn't I with my Isa-trial. 3) There's nothing to do with my dynDNS-software like yours. (I was wrong with .."updating from client will result in wrong IP". I tried it out another time and now updating from a client = webserver works right way.) 4) I'm not quite shure with this: I'd like to run multiple sites(3 subdomains like www, foerder, ehemalige) by hostheaders. DynDNS knows nothing about this and is responding all queries to *.myDomain.de with the same IP. So I think that's nothing what to look for. wkr: Wilhelm Pieper ----- Original Message ----- From: Ash Ridley To: [ISAserver.org Discussion List] Sent: Sunday, March 17, 2002 10:35 AM Subject: [isalist] RE: Prob with dynDNS on isa-server 1) I recommend you check out DynSite as it supports many different dynamic DNS providers.. 2) I didnt need to configure a specific port for the update, so I'm assuming mine uses the DNS packet filter to get out (either that or port 80). 3) However I also originally had a connection error and the problem turned out to be that I hadnt done everything to my DNS account settings that I needed to (in EasyDNS' case I had to enable dynamic updated (as they also do static DNS) and setup the first A record to be updated). .. 4) Another gotcha I found (dont know if it applies to DynDNS). It caused problems for me if I had more than one A record (I believe each A record expects a separate update from your software), since I only have one IP address it was easier to set up all the other names as alias' to one A record, then I could just issue a 'domain level' IP address update and all the alias' would fall into line without requiring separate updates. ..
