I would configure the Verizon DSL box to not give out DHCP addresses. If this is an SBS server or is running DHCP on the same box then your internal network needs to include .255. According to the message you have from Outlook it's not SMTP that it can't find it's POP. Have you verified which port Verizon is using for POP? I recently ran across a network that wasn't using 110 for Pop. Is Verizon hosting your email then? I am testing this from the Internal network. Also the ISA logs do not show me anything related to blocking any SMTP connection to the External network. The thing is I have 2 NICs installed on the ISA server 2004. One NIC is connected to the Internal Network with IP range 192.168.35.1 to 192.168.35.254 and the other NIC which is connected to my verizon DSL box has the IP range 192.168.1.47 . My verizon DSL box is giving out this range of IPs 192.168.1.1 to 192.168.1.50. This is one of those Verizon box with a wireless capability. When I was using cable box for a similar connection, I never had this problem. It's just that my cable DSL connection keep disconnecting all the time so I switched to Verizon DSL, and now I cannot configure Outlook 2003 to work. The actual error message I am getting now is "Outlook could not connect to the incoming mail server (POP3). The problem could be the server name or port, or your server may not support SSL. Verify your port and SSL settings in More settings under Advanced", Has anyone encountered this kind of error while setting up Outlook 2003 with Verizon DLS infront of ISA 2004? Any thoughts?
