Are there other machines on the same LAN with the Deep Freeze machines?

A bit off-topic, but most people on this list are very security conscience,
so thought you guys could give a good input.

A lot of the school districts are using a program call Deep Freeze.  For
those of you unfamiliar with it, it basically "freezes" a copy of Windows in
whatever state it is in when frozen.  Then, when the computer is rebooted,
it restores everything to its frozen state, wiping out everything changed
since last boot.

The part that bothers me is that these schools are under the impression that
they have no need for updates or virus scanning programs because the
computer will be restored when rebooted anyways.

What is your take on this?  In "some" ways, they have a valid point...
