It wouldn't be the first time IT folk use a generic word to describe a process 
which refers to the overall task rather than to the specific steps that are 
performed or the actual meaning of the term. ie bouncing the box!!

Why do you say "incorrectly refer" regarding the term "propagation?"  There
is nothing wrong with saying "DNS changes may take up to 24 hours to
propagate."
