No, what Mark is saying if you are going rely on the ISA configuration backup (export) to use for recovery if you rebuild the server, you could run into problems, which is what Andrew (our buddy) was suggesting. If you are backing up the entire server with what ever, that is a lot better. Have you ever done a ISA config restore on a server with more than the default rule? If you have anything complicated at all it can make the restore fail until you get your preconfig just right.(which may take hours!!) get your ISA set just right get a USB HDD and something like trueimage and do a bare metal image update it when you make changes, if you crash you will be back up in no time. -----Original Message----- From: isalist-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:isalist-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx]On Behalf Of Andrew English Sent: Tuesday, April 04, 2006 12:24 PM To: isalist@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: RE: [isalist] Installing Backup Exec Remote Agent on my ISA server It would be easier for you to backup your ISA 2004 Configuration, that way if the server tanks you simply have to reinstall the OS, ISA 2004 and patches, then load in the config and your all done. I want to backup my ISA 2004 standard server using Backup Exec. Does anyone know off hand what traffic I need to allow in order to push the installation of the BE remote agent? And what do I need to allow to do the backups? I'm only asking in case someone knows off hand, or has a reference article immediately handy. Don't spend any time looking it up for me.
