That should have been "So the database server and the ISA server are the same physical machine?" Any traffic that comes to the ISA server is going to be handled by ISA regardless, unless I am mistaken. What database are you running? It is possible for you to put your database on a different server? If your ISA is compromised then so is your database by default, typically you would want your firewall, web, and application database server to be separate boxes.
