FYI, you can also use a Group Policy to manage this setting for all your Windows users. In the Active Directory Users and Computers mmc snap-in, right click on the OU your user accounts are in. Go to the Group Policy tab and either make a new policy, or add to your existing one. The settings for IE proxy are configured under User Configuration - Windows Settings - Internet Explorer Maintenance - Connection - Proxy Settings. Set it up there once, and once replication happens between your DC's have your users log off and then back on, and the settings will take effect. -----Original Message----- From: Edward Sullivan Sent: Monday, April 14, 2003 5:06 PM To: [ISAserver.org Discussion List] Subject: [isalist] RE: Bypass ISA with Intranet http://www.ISAserver.org Launch Internet Explorer, and select Tools, Connections, and click on Lan Settings. Under Proxy Server check "Use a Proxy..." and "Bypass proxy..." Make sure your server name or IP are in the Address field, and 8080 is in the Port field. Click on the Advanced Button, and make sure your Exceptions read similiar to this (substitute your network and or domain): 10.100.1.*;10.100.3.*;*.kma.com;*.kmac.net The asterisk is the wildcard, and each exception must end with a semi-colon (;) except for the last one. I am not sure how ISA will see this since the SQL requests are coming to the same server that ISA resides on. Tom can probably tell you in more detail how to make ISA ignore the SQL requests altogether if it is possible to do in your config. Let me know if this helps, and good luck! -----Original Message----- From: Faizal Khan [mailto:mis@xxxxxxxxxxxxxx] Sent: Monday, April 14, 2003 4:52 PM To: [ISAserver.org Discussion List] Subject: [isalist] RE: Bypass ISA with Intranet http://www.ISAserver.org Edward, You are correct now that I am thinking about it....Any requests made will definitely be dealt with by ISA since they reside on the same machine....I am using SQL 2000 w/sp 3. Unfortunately it isn't possible to host it as yet on another server, I am looking to do this as soon as possible. Thanks for your advice! But I know there was a way to by pass ISA with the Intranet, I can't remember how...
