No, the DB server should not have the FWclient installed on it.

                Did check the static route as suggested and they are
fine.  The database server is behind the ISA server itself (on the same
machine) so I am noticing a slow down when an aspx file is launched so I
need to just allow a bypass for the local intranet.
                I do have bypass for local address in IE as Spence
suggested.
                Not sure what else to try!
