OK, just to conclude this one for anyone interested.
A. As part of the beta testing team, I have written to Ron and suggested
these refinements because I agree they definitely are important and
should mirror the way JAWS behaves.
B. However, it would be wrong to say of course that there is no Braille
output of this kind of information. Pressing Insert+F will allow you to
read the font-based details. It's not automatic, but at least there is
a method of getting the information if like me you always have the
speech turned off.
As a side note, some of you will have heard the interview with Jonathan
Mosen on the Blind Bargains web site

where he talks about the upcoming 6.1 release. If you have not, do go

hi it doesn't have many really.
it only has cursor options like braille cursor folows active, show
highlight etc
