I am not sure what you mean. But if you are talking about the
mails that ask people to follow mailing list guidelines, then I feel
that it is necessary. As all of us see, despite there being lots of
mails asking people to follow guidelines, a lot of people violate
them. Moreover, it is not policing. It is just that a member is
guiding a fellow member towards a better etiquette. And there is
nothing wrong in doing that. Thanks
