I have a mail server running sendmail and ipop3d thro'
xinetd on rh7.3.My roaming users connect on the
Intenet and pop the server. Occassionally, users get
disconnected from the Internet while downloading mail
- maybe due to the call waiting facility terminating
data calls.
The mailbag is locked for a while and pop3d
authentication fails. This shows the userid/pwd popup
repeaptedly in Outlook/OE. If we shutdown the mail
client, wait for 10 minutes and try again, it goes
thro'. During this lockup period, when pins is invokes
for the user, pine reports mailbox is locked by some
other process.
The info I need is as follows:
1. Where does ipop3d maintain its lock files?
2. Is there any config file where this lock timeout
can be set.
