Very true. This is the worst thing that can happen. They will even
convince the interested ones that anything non-windozed is difficult /
useless.

naturally will rub off on students.  Maybe demo@schools ought to
educate the teachers?

Yes, that is also a long term goal. But its possible only when the
following tasks are completed:

  1. Convince the schools & students that Free Software is good for them
and start training them.
  2. Write syllabus, course material, books
  3. Teach staff

'1' is done at one school and is on the chart for another school. for 2,
3... we need more volunteers.
