I have finished migrating from SuSE 10.0 (LFY Nov 05) to Kubuntu
Dapper (I downloaded the DVD version) just now. I am a KDE Fan
(particularly because of KMail, KStars and the KDE Games for my
parents)
Its good that Kubuntu supports Unicode Tamil out of the box. But I
have to re-compile Firefox (I dont have the patience).
Meanwhile I had been trying to read Dinamalar, Dailythanthi and other
tamil news websites. I downloaded the TTF Fonts and installed them
using the Graphical tool in SU mode. I had tried the same in the
earlier versions of Linux that I had used before(SuSE, Mandrake 10,
Fedora 3, etc..). But I have never been successfully read the said
news papers online on Linux. Has anyone done this before? Any
pointers?
