[Ilugc] MDK10.0 ok for production server ?

The problem is that the power does not cut over to the UPS fast enough.

You need a surge suppressor as well - most high quality commercial grade 
/ isp grade power bars / power strips will have these.

Do you think it is a better idea to say "yes" when it asks "do you want 
to check the fs.." while rebooting ?

depends - use a journalling fs like ext3 and you should have less 
problems wrt lost data from power cuts.
