If the GNU folks wanted a short-cut to fame, they would have insisted
on calling the kernel as Stallmanix (in the US) and maybe Krishmanix
(in India). Can you deny credit where it is due ?
The hobby kernel by Linux Torvalds is a very crucial component and now
we have a fully free Operating System called as GNU/Linux. Maybe a
better free kernel (micro/mu-micro) may replace it.
The GNU folks are slighted only when they see that the greater ideals
of sharing and community being trampled on and forgotten. The GNU
folks are concerned only because they see *gullible* newbies taken
down a path of no-return, the endless blackhole to which they are
slipping and falling down when they unknowingly use `non-free' stuff.
