calling the kernel as stallmanix or krishmanix would also be known as
plaigarism. if the objective of gnu is so noble and only to ensure credit
where it is due, why not also propose to have X somewhere in the name? at
least, one cannot then accuse gnu of being selfish in trying to promote
its own name (only) and will give a righteous ring to the affair. gnu can
get visibility without having to tag on to linux. linux would not be
possible without gnu. a subtle effort to make this point could have been
done ...
The GNU folks are concerned only because they see *gullible* newbies
taken down a path of no-return, the endless blackhole to which they are
slipping and falling down when they unknowingly use `non-free' stuff.
non-free stuff like other open sourced software? or non-free stuff as in
proprietary stuff like what is put out by microsoft? or are all these
considered the same?
