The only thing this argument accomplishes is that it divides
the lug into two opposing camps: those who are okay with
the discussion of non-FOSS topics, and those who oppose it.
(Of course, being a lug, any non-Linux topic is definitely
OT. There's no debate in that.)
Since we only have one mailing list/forum, it's best that
both camps acknowledge the presence the other and learn to
respect each others views.
Personally, I can tolerate different views and opinions, and
at times I even solocit opposing views. It is this nitpicking
and intolerance towards others that I find irritiating.
I also find it ironic that while we talk about freedom, the
moment someone has an contradicting opinon, they get slammed.
Jeez...
