Codecs? mplayer can play everything but Debian and mplayer do not get along.

I had trouble compiling the source. It was failing in some libavcodec
header file.

I wonder. If you can get some deb for it it will be good.


My laptop has Debian 6.0 and mplayer binary works out of the box. You
should have following entry in /etc/apt/sources.list

deb http://mirrors.kernel.org/debian/ squeeze main non-free contrib

and

$ sudo aptitude install mplayer 

will do
