If you try to do interleaved quoting like this in what is basically a
top posted thread, you break readablity quite easily
At least when replying to work email, it is quite easy to just glance at
the first line or two in the email, see the reply and move on to the
next mail. Top posting does have its uses there.
So it all depends on the context.
