It doesn't appear in 16.3.S016 either, however it does appear in 16.3.S025

I don't see it under my available preference settings. I'm on 16.3.S019.

I'll just mention that there is a new User Preference Setting:

Setup > User Preferences > Placement > General > Display_Refdes_Rats

This setting will permanently display a line between the ref des and the symbol.

I turn it off and on as needed; the screen gets very cluttered quickly.

Hope this helps.

Dave

There was a skill program on sourcelink many years ago that shows errors
for misplacement of silk features.

Hey Andy,

That's been on my wish list for a while.

I usually get into Show Element with Symbols turned on and pass over the silk
to see if the correct symbol lights up.

You can also move each text to see the "rats", and then oops out of it.

Subject: [PCB_FORUM] Silk Screen REF DES with correct component

Hi All,

For those not using AUTO_SILK, but use and manipulate SS ref des text
manually....... Is there a way to verify that the SS REF DES is with its
correct component? I know that sometimes when moving/rotating and adding leader
lines, there might be pilot error in that the REF DES might be switched with an
adjacent component.

  Thanks,

Andy
