In Setup/User Preference/Plot, be sure the "plot_vectorize_text" option
is also unselected and you should be good to go. To check, output a plot
file (file > export > ipf) and then read it back in. Check to see if
what looks like text is really text or just a series of line draws.

Dave,
Where do you select the "non-vectorized text" option in Allegro.
We are using V-15.1 and I can only find a "vectorized" selection box in
Plot set-up. Which is not enabled.
I also looked in Setup/User Preference/Plot.

I found the font: Arial, height 100% width 75% is pretty close to
allegro font size.
This makes the reference designators searchable on the pdf assembly
drawings.

Our assembly person is having difficulty finding parts on the more dense
boards.
Can I get your input on a gerber viewer tool that is free and easy to
use for an assembly person to find parts on the board?
