Yes, I've gotten into the groove with that scale, but all it takes is
somebody asking me a question, and my whole rhythm goes out of whack :-). I
know it isn't long, and most of my sites are no problem, but watching that
10-second countdown while the scale boots up seems like 5 minutes
sometimes. A different trick I've used sometimes is in the middle of
processing the bird, to just randomly touch the weighing pan, which starts
the shut-down clock over again.

One of my hummingbird scales, the one that Lanny apparently uses, does
have to turn it back on for every bird...and there doesn't seem to be a way
to adjust the "sleep" time as on some other scales.
